The Young and the Restless recap for March 16-20, 2020, features the characters learning a tough lesson – actions have consequences. And every once in a while they’re the unintended kind.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
“Life is full of unintended consequences, isn’t it?” That is Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and look no further than your now ex-girlfriend for proof.
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) thought she was doing the right thing by keeping mum about Sharon’s (Sharon Case) cancer and hiding her status as an unemployed lady but the resulting stress led her to misinterpret your relationship status and indulge in a spot of hanky panky with another woman. Whoopsie!
But she’s far from the only example. Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) were sure that they had their love affair out of their system but one too many close encounters and far too many innuendos resulted in them picking up where they left off about a decade ago.
And, because they’re really bad at plying it subtle, Summer (Hunter King) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) are now painfully aware of them reuniting. And speaking of the young love birds, their woeful mishandling of their personal lives may have actually worked out for everyone involved. They are happy together and Lola (Sasha Calle) and Theo (Tyler Johnson) are slowly making their way towards one another.
But while some of the Genoa City twenty-somethings are reaping the benefits of positive consequence, the likes of Adam (Mark Grossman), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Victor, and a stranger named Alyssa (Maria DiDomenico) are reckoning with the flip side.
Turns out there might be more to the story of Adam’s deceased stepfather (the victim of a hit and run driver) and it may have something to do with Alyssa’s loan shark father who met an untimely end right around the same time that Victor paid his ex-wife, son, and Kansas a visit. Maybe Adam shouldn’t have tried to reconnect with his kindergarten bestie!
YR Musings
Jill: “Colin used Devon’s inheritance to launder dirty money?” That actually makes a lot of sense. And, as it turns out, he also used Chancellor Industries to do more of the same. Are we the least bit heartened to learn that he never actually intended to rob Devon (Bryton James) blind and make off with the loot?
Lola: “My marriage to Kyle isn’t officially over…” Really? How long does it take to get a divorce in Wisconsin? Surly the rich, powerful and oh so in love Kyle could help speed up the matrimonial dissolving process.
Mariah: “I guess you two are a package deal now. I have to start calling you by some cutesy internet name like Kymmer or Skyler.” Actually, Mariah, the internet called and it said that it prefers Skyle.
Abby: He [Chance] has restored my faith in relationships. I was starting to doubt my judgment, thinking there must be something the matter with me for always picking the wrong guy.” Wow. “Wrong guy” is an understatement. There was the one who turned out to be a sex trafficker, the one who was married to your niece, the one with the psychotic son, the one who cheated on you with his sister-in-law…
Sharon: “Where’s Faith?” Rey: “I took her to Society a little while ago, so she could spend some time with Lola.” Sharon: That’s…random” It really is. Have Lola and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) even shared a single scene before now?
After all the years of hearing and seeing Adam answer to such, was it a bit weird to hear Alyssa call him Vic – as in Victor Adam Junior, his actual birth name? The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
