The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, May 28, 2021, finds Neil’s friends, family, and loved ones remembering the influence he had on their lives – with flashbacks!
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Bryton James), and Moses (Jacob Aaron Gaines) led the people of Genoa City on a walking tour of spots that were important to their late dad, Neil (Kristoff St. John). Devon came up with a musical playlist that helped trigger memories for all.
Lily remembered how her dad was always there for her, and Amanda (Karla Mosely) admitted to Devon that she didn’t know how she was feeling, because no one ever loved her the way Neil did him, and she never loved anyone the way he loved Neil. (Sob.)
Devon and Nate (Sean Dominic) also reflected on how Neil and Malcolm (Shemar Moore) had their differences and their fights but were eventually able to come together as brothers.
Devon and Nate are technically double-cousins: Devon’s adoptive mom, Dru (Victoria Rowell), and Nate’s mom, Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) were sisters, while Neil adopted Devon, and Malcolm adopted Nate. So they should be able to make it work, too.
Abbotts & Newmans
Sharon (Sharon Case) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) hope that Neil knew how loved he was, while Victor (Eric Braeden) talked up Neil to Moses, telling the boy that he too will be a corporate titan one day, since, in Genoa City, those positions are strictly designated by blood ties. Ashley stopped by and Victor called her by her full name. Which is weird, since they used to be married. And then nothing else came of the visit.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) played a song Neil had asked her to learn, and Jack (Peter Bergman) told her about the new record label Devon was starting. They’ll all miss him. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
