The Y&R recap for Friday, December 30, 2022, features a trick and a treat for longtime fans with a flashback episode to Halloween 1991, where all of Genoa City was dressed to the nines, while David Kimball was at sixes and sevens with his ex-wife. Plus, there were two Beasts and only one would live to tell the tale!
Y&R Recap Highlights
Remember Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) whose will was just front and center with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers)? That’s her as the Queen of Hearts, with then-husband Rex Sterling (Quinn Redeker) as The Mad Hatter.
Victor-Victoria
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is an emperor – of course – and daughter Victoria Newman (then-Heather Tom, now Katie on The Bold and the Beautiful) doesn’t want him to see her with Ryan (Scott Reevers – real-life husband of Melissa Reeves, who sometimes plays Jennifer Horton Deveraux on Days of our Lives).
Brad Carlton (Don Diamont, now Bill Spencer on B&B) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) talk about the baby she’s carrying. That baby will turn out to be Colleen Carlton. The daughter who had to die so that The Great Victor Newman might live.
Young and the Restless Recap: Two-Faced
But the main action has to do with David Kimble (Michael Corbett). He once married Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), Chance’s (Conner Floyd) mom for her money. She was poor trash, as Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) loved to remind her, but she inherited a bunch when Phillip Chancellor “died.” David was presumed dead, but returned in disguise to romance Nina’s mom, Flo.
And who did David blame for ruining all his fine plans for wealth and world domination? Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell). So, for Halloween, David dons the same Beast costume as Danny, sneaks in, and shoots him…think this is the end of the story? Nope, it was just the beginning of the end.
