The Young and the Restless recap for January 4-8, 2021, features Amanda taking matters into her own hands, Adam undermining and taking over, and Summer going to great lengths to get a co-worker fired.
Amanda (Mishael Morgan) finally plucked up enough courage to actually speak with her biological mother and request a face to face. And it seemed like she was finally going to get the answers to the myriad of questions she had been pondering all her life.
But Naya (Ptosha Storey) was a no show. And then her daughter, Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose), stormed into Amanda’s hotel room and lobbed numerous threats in an attempt to dissuade her from “coming after” the Benedict family and their amply-stuffed coffers.
The back-to-back dismissal and intrusion pushed Amanda over the edge, and she made a beeline for Naya’s house. Once there, she caused such a ruckus that Naya had no choice but to open the door and hear the young woman out. After all, what would the neighbors have thought if she’d allowed Amanda to carry on throughout the night?
In the aftermath of her emergency surgery and stroke, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) found herself completely at Adam’s (Mark Grossman) mercy. And Adam reckoned it would be a good thing for his grievously-ill partner to be sprung from the hospital and returned to the penthouse. Naturally the doctors protested, but once Adam asked Victor (Eric Braeden) to throw his weight around, all his requests were met.
Summer’s (Hunter King) distrust of Sally (Courtney Hope) grew exponentially in the aftermath of a chat with Jack (Peter Bergman), in which he encouraged peaceful co-existence between the women.
So, on the pretext of a business only field trip to L.A., Summer made plans to contact of all Sally’s former SoCal pals with the expressed hope of uncovering some usable dirt.
Meanwhile, Billy (Jason Thompson) shared an epiphany with Lily (Christel Khalil) – his obsession with Adam has gotten a wee bit out of hand, so, in the interest of healing that festering sore spot, he’s going to avoid pitching anymore stories concerning his rival’s exploits. And that’s music to Lily’s ears.
On the romance front, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) finally decided that she could see a future with Nate (Sean Dominic) in it, and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) decided to embrace their status quo, meaning that there won’t be any wedding bells for them anytime soon.
