The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, May 14, 2021, leads into Summer and Kyle’s engagement party… which comes with a tiny crasher. Plus, Faith comes home from the hospital, Rey reaches out to Sharon, and Victor plans Adam’s future.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) are happy, happy, happy about their engagement. So are their parents. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) gifts Summer a necklace she once got from Jack (Peter Bergman) to prove her support. Jack gives Kyle a watch he got from his dad to prove his support. Why didn’t they give their kids these things the first time they got married? We don’t know!
Phyllis also asks Summer if she’s sure she wants to marry Kyle with Tara (Elizabeth Lenier) lurking in the background. (And Phyllis doesn’t even know about little Harrison.) Summer insists that it’s not a problem. They are happy, happy, happy! See how many times they kiss?
All is going well at the engagement party – despite Phyllis’s paranoia that Sally (Courtney Hope) would want to be there, for some reason. But then a surprise guest does show up: It’s Tara. With little Harrison. How will laying eyes on his son for the first time affect Kyle?
Talking Points
Sharon (Sharon Case) brings Faith (Reylynn Caster) home from the hospital, then promptly leaves her with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to go meet Rey (Jordi Vilasuso). She’s tired of beating around the bush. Where does their marriage stand?
Headed For The Future
Adam (Mark Grossman) is also home from the hospital, and Victor (Eric Braeden) is there to make sure they get off on the right foot. Adam says he plans to use their new media company to crush Billy (Jason Thompson). Victor is delighted. Who cares how Victoria (Amelia Heinle) – or his grandchildren – might feel about that? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
