The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, December 8, 2021, piles more guilt on Chance as he watches what Abby Chancellor went through without him, while Phyllis Summers and Jack Abbott decide not to give love another chance, and Billy Abbott reveals to Lily Winters that he has Adam Newman precisely where he wants him.

Chance (Conner Floyd) is so enamored by his baby boy that he turns down Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) offer to rejoin the Genoa City Police Department – at Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) insistence – in order to spend more time with Dominic.
Chance wants to know everything he missed while he was gone, so Abby shows him her video diary. Which includes her crying about how much she misses Chance and how hard her life is without him. As if the man isn’t suffering from enough guilt, here is a little more!
Y&R Recap: Rerun Season
Jack (Peter Bergman) notices that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is acting more manic than usual, even for her – babbling about high-end doorknobs. She’s about to tell him she thinks they should get back together when Jack magically comes to his senses and says he can’t get hurt by Phyllis again. He doesn’t want a reunion if they gloss over their past issues. Phyllis is confused. How could anyone not want her?

Young and the Restless: Double Cross
Earlier, Jack turned down Billy’s (Jason Thompson) suggestion that Jabot buy ChancComm. But, that’s OK. Billy has a backup plan. Lily (Christel Khalil) overhears Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) telling Adam (Mark Grossman) about how despondent Billy seemed when she ran into him. Adam first wants Sally to spy on Billy for him, then changes his mind.
Lily goes running to Billy with only the first half of that – she missed the second – but her boyfriend assures her this is all part of his clever, clever plan. Okay, Lily shrugs. She trusts him. Which is all Billy claims to care about.
