The Young and the Restless Recap: Big Dreams Come With Big Hair

The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, May 5, 2020, features a rerun from August 17, 1987 (even though Phillip makes a point of saying it’s September), where Nikki sets her sights on Victor again, while Ashley holds on tighter. Plus, Phillip demands Danny tells him what his intentions are with Cricket, and Jack tries to set up John with Ellen.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

On Monday, fans watched Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) first official meeting at the ranch. He was lying about being the butler. She was lying about not knowing that he was really Victor.

Victor and Nikki: Lying Liars

Today, Nikki was lying about dying. And Victor was lying about not knowing that she’s faking. Seriously? This is our Genoa City couple for the ages? She lied to him about Victoria’s paternity, originally. He lied to her about the affair with Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

Now, Nikki thought she had a chance to get her husband back, while Victor continued to be torn between two women… and Ashley refused to go down without a fight! Even in Nikki’s fantasy!

This Girl Is Mine

While Kay (Jeanne Cooper) and Cricket (Lauralee Bell) fretted about Phillip (Thom Bierdz) going out to get drunk again, he was actually over at Danny’s (Michael Damian), demanding to know if Danny was still in love with Cricket. Because Phillip wanted her for himself.

Because it’s the late 1980s, and all red-blooded Genoa City males were required to be in love with Cricket, Danny, naturally, couldn’t help himself. He admitted he did want her back. Would this be enough to drive Phillip to drink, after all?

Also Ran

Ellen ran a soup kitchen. Ellen had a chance to take a great job in Washington. Possibly running a bigger soup kitchen. Ellen was also in a relationship with John (Jerry Douglas). Sort of. Jack (Terry Lester) urged his dad to stop Ellen from leaving. Don’t get attached, she did, anyway. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
