On Friday, viewers got to see just how far back the animosity between Christine and Phyllis goes on The Young and the Restless courtesy of a classic re-broadcast. Lauralee Bell (Christine) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) did a video chat to reflect on the episode.

Additionally, Bell spoke to fans who have concerns as to when YR will return with new episodes. “A lot of you are asking when are we going back to work,” Bell said, addressing the issue head-on. “We wish we knew. We love making YR. You are the best fans…you’ve stuck by us through everything. This is just one more.

“We really can’t wait to get new product to you as soon as possible,” she adds, “so, just stay with us and we’ll stay with you.”

As viewers saw in the episode (also available on CBS.com and CBS All Access), Paul and Chris arrived on the island of Nevis as husband and wife. Unbeknownst to the honeymooners, their nemesis Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was vacationing on the island, her plan to keep Danny (Michael Damian), Chris’s ex, in her life had suffered a setback.

Annoyed by Chris’s presence in her life, Phyllis played a prank on the pair — arranging for a live octopus to be put in the couple’s hotel bed! Bell and Stafford chatted with each other in a video conference online to reminisce about it.

“I love these classic episodes,” Bell said. “Clearly, the fans love them, too. What’s so weird for us, that sometimes we’ll watch them and I don’t remember filming them! So, it’s a surprise for me, too!”

“It was a great trip to Nevis,” recalls Stafford. “It was almost two weeks and I only worked three days. It’s nostalgic.”

“Our voices were very different,” Bell recollects. “We talked very high back then. Now, we go to lower registers.”

While Phyllis recently showed compassion for Sharon (Sharon Case), who’s battling cancer, this classic episode is a reminder of how awful she can be! “Phyllis was so mean…” agrees Stafford.

“You were mean to everyone…” Bell ribbed her real-life pal. “Take a number!”

The two actresses caught up on what they’re doing to pass the time while they’re self-quarantining. “I’m trying to clean my house as my two children make it filthy immediately,” Stafford says. “I didn’t know that two children could destroy a house so quickly. Truth be told, all I do is complain about how little time I have my kids. [Now] I have all the time in the world. I should absolutely not complain now.”
