The Young and the Restless recap for September 7-11, 2020, features a week chock full of Adam-related drama. But has the show been completely consumed by one character and his multitude of woes? Or does it only feel that way?
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Once upon a time, way back in a near-mythical land called Kansas, Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) were best friends. But then he murdered her father.
And then he proceeded to grow up to be an expert liar, a master manipulator, and killer a few (more) times over – we’re talking about Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) unborn baby, Richard Hightower, and whoever’s unidentified bones were found on the Newman Ranch that one time that everyone has since forgotten about. (We’re pretty sure Adam killed you too.) And let’s not forget Delia, which was an accident, but still…
Understandably, Alyssa wants to see some justice served. Adam, for his part, is pretty sure she’s right — except his idea of justice doesn’t include serving any time in a jail cell. He just thinks that he should have to give up all the nice things in his life like the woman who thinks that he hung the moon and the stars and the son who believe him to be a superman.
But Sharon (Sharon Case) thinks that her ex is worth saving. So much so that she’s willing to put her health and her second chance with Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) on the line in order to coach Adam through his most recent depressive period.
Is It REALLY All About Adam?
Sharon wants to counsel Adam. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) wants to soothe his ire. Chance (Danny Boaz) wants to make sure the details of their little Vegas spree stay hidden. And Alyssa and Billy (Jason Thompson) are nipping at his heels desperate to see him take an almighty fall.
Is there anyone on this show not concerned about Adam in some form or fashion? Well, there is Theo (Tyler Johnson) and Lola (Sasha Calle). They’re too busy engaging in petty squabbles. And Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is way to busy with her whole “Escape Club” venture and her reignited love affair with Nick (Joshua Morrow) – and her rivalry with Abby (Melissa Ordway).
The Abbotts are far more concerned with Dina’s (Marla Adams) impending passing than Adam’s latest issues. Oh, and Amanda (Mishael Morgan) is a little pre-occupied with the thought she might be Hilary’s twin sister. Luckily, it isn’t ALL about Adam. It just seems that way. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
