When Theo first popped up in The Young and the Restless spoilers, it was as Kyle’s wild New York friend, whose main mission in life was to stand around and tell Kyle, “Yo, man, you’ve changed. You used to be all about the partying and the babes, and now you’re obsessed with that Lola chick!”

Well, Kyle (Michael Mealor) is – supposedly – no longer obsessed with the Lola (Sasha Calle) chick. And Theo (Tyler Johnson) is now his cousin! Let’s unpack how that all began.
Gimme Reasons
Johnson turned out to be a charismatic actor whom TPTB wisely wanted to keep around. But rather than make him not related to anyone on the canvas so he was free to date all of Genoa City, the show decided to make Theo the heretofore unknown grandson of Dina (Marla Adams) and Stuart Brooks. Jack (Peter Bergman) was all excited about his new family member. Until Kyle and Summer (Hunter King) outed Theo for stealing their ideas and Jack fired him.

Master Plan
Now Kyle mostly mopes around Lola, triggering Kyle’s jealousy. But what if Theo – who came on as a major brand influencer and Public Relations whiz, who put the fear of competition into Mariah (Camryn Grimes), has been the puppet master all along?
Inspired by Ashley (Eileen Davidson) conning Jack into thinking he wasn’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) biological son by manipulating a confused Dina, what if Theo conned Jack into thinking Theo was his dead half-brother’s son by manipulating a confused Dina? He fed Dina the ‘I had a high school affair with Stuart and secretly bore his son then gave him away’ story. And how hard could faking a tear-stained letter be?
