The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Friday’s “classic” episode throws it way back not even six months to December of 2019 and the Abbott family Christmas — where Kyle and Lola were the happy newlyweds.

By the time YR stopped airing new episodes in April, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) were together thwarting Theo’s attempt to advance his career at Jabot. And they had been together for a while. However, their relationship seemed to only consist of sex. Wherever they could find a place to have sex, this pair had sex.
Meanwhile, Lola (Sasha Calle) decided to recover from her heartbreak by diving headfirst into a new romance with Theo (Tyler Johnson). But it took quite a while for Kyle and Lola to agree they actually should divorce.

It was clear when they had that discussion, neither one was happy about it. Yes, it’s hard to end a marriage, but was that what they really wanted? Kyle’s jealousy was evident every time he saw Theo and Lola together, and YR will need something shocking to draw viewers in when it returns with new episodes. Kyle returning to Lola would be quite in character for him and create a quadrangle that can get mileage for months.
When Lola learns that Theo stole an idea off Kyle’s laptop, she certainly won’t be happy with him and Kyle being Kyle would certainly want to comfort his ex-wife, right? What if they realize they’re still in love — and the divorce isn’t final yet?
The pair wouldn’t even need an elaborate wedding for reconciliation and can go back to living in their tiny apartment as if the Summer incident never happened. Except it did and Summer may have a little leverage and some real proof if it turns out she is pregnant. That would be just the soapy drama we need to get drawn back in and give the show story that can last for years to come. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
