The Young and the Restless Recap: A Week Of GC Summer Fun

The Young and the Restless recap for July 6-10, 2020 features a dip into the soap’s archives and a look back at some of the most dramatic happenings that took place during the summer months.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlight

Last week, there was a look back at Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) storied past. This week, the five episodes were devoted to “Summer Fun.” But where there’s heat, drama inevitably follows…

Sweet Child O’ Ours

Monday’s episode featured a Newman family cook-out that also served as Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) official welcome into the clan. It was a hard-fought battle for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) but the duo had God and Christine Williams on their side so a victory was inevitable.

Founders Day

Gloria (Judith Chapman) went all out on July 4, 2005… though some – like her eldest son – would say that she was merely overcompensating for the fact that her marriage to John Abbott was in major trouble.

Ladies, please take note: do not marry much older, much richer men than yourselves when you aren’t quite sure whether or not your despicable (and legal) husband is as dead as you think he might be.

Couple Interrupted

Wednesday’s episode featured the official kick-off of the Glow By Jabot ad campaign. But while the temperature was rising outside, the real heat was being generated by lovelorn teens Mackenzie (Ashley Bashioum) and Billy (David Tom).

The chemistry between the two was palpable and videographer Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) had no qualms about using the smooch she captured to her advantage!

Let’s Play Pretend

Sharon and Nick’s relationship always seemed like a storybook come to life. So it probably seemed only natural for him to arrange an Arabian Nights fantasy for the two of them to share. How better to forget their trouble and woes then make believing they were Jasmine and Aladdin.

Welcome to the Funfair

An extravagant carnival came to Genoa City in 2019, and it was exactly the kind of distraction that so many of the town’s citizens desperately needed. Especially Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). There is no better way to unwind after telling your children that you might die from a blood disease than consuming spun sugar and winning a prize after knocking over some milk bottles. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
