The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, June 5, closes off a week-long tribute to the Abbott family by going all the way back to… Christmas 2019, where the Abbotts make merry, the Baldwins get a surprise, and Billy tells a lie.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) have a quick hello at the Abbott family Christmas dinner where they manage to pack in what a year it’s been for the family, including their making up for the schism that developed when Ashley conned Jack into thinking he wasn’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) biological son.

It led to Ashley leaving Jabot and starting her own, competing company in France using the patents John left her. But now they’ve merged their companies and its bygones time!

It’s also (temporary) bygones time for Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Theo (Tyler Johnson), when Lola (Sasha Calle) guilts her husband into extending an olive branch to his newfound cousin for the holidays. Kyle agrees and he and Lola are stronger than ever. That is until he decides he’s been in love with Summer (Hunter King) all along. (Only like a month later. We all remember it cause it just happened like everything else in 2020 just happened.)

Prodigal Brother

Jack guilts Billy (Jason Thompson) into coming to the dinner after he misses his plane to join Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and the kids skiing. Billy tells Victoria he’s with his family but considers joining Amanda (Mishael Morgan). Instead, he goes home and plays cards on the computer.

On the Wagon

Billy was reminded he’s an addict by Fen (Zach Tinker) arriving from rehab to surprise Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc). They are happy. Fen promises he’ll visit them more often. He does not.

Best Laid Plans

Abby (Melissa Ordway) tells Ashley she has figured out a way to get rid of Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) from The Grand Phoenix. She has not. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
