The Young and the Restless Poll Results: Who Saw Sparks Between Victoria and Rey?

You never know when a new potential couple might pop up on The Young and the Restless. Chemistry tests are constantly going on. Some on purpose, some by accident.

Billy (Jason Thompson) and Amanda (Mishael Morgan) bonding in the dark — that’s not a euphemism, they were sitting in the dark, sharing stories, bonding — was an obvious chemistry test.

But what are we to make of Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) doing more or less the same thing? Although with clothing coming off? (OK, it was her shoe. And she used it to unlock a door. But we got your attention!) Is this a couple in the making? What almost 5,000 fans had to say:

Nothing doing, 70% of the audience dismisses. Victoria belongs with Billy (get lost, Amanda), and Rey is owed to Sharon. They were together before, and Sharon still has first dibs on him.

That’s what you get for being a long-running character played by the same actress — who has more or less used up all of her other possibilities. If Sharon wants Rey, she should get him. They may not be soulmates, but Billy and Victoria are. So no to Rey. As Victor (Eric Braeden) would say: You got that?

We’re intrigued, 30% of The Young and the Restless fans admit. Victoria and Billy’s reunion never felt right. It happened too soon after the JT (Thad Luckinbill) mess, and then, when he went nuts and tried to kill people, they brushed it under the rug like Billy just had a bad case of the flu, then woke up feeling much better.

They have so much unresolved between them, every conversation, no matter how casual, feels fraught. Rey is almost a clean slate. Victoria could use that. And sticking it to Sharon is always fun.
