Poor, sad, lonely Jack on The Young and the Restless. He’s good-looking, he’s rich, he’s not nearly as awful as some of his fellow Genoa City citizens. And yet, all of his love relationships tank.
Some with a bang. Some with a whimper. But all with noting left for Jack. If he can’t get a new girlfriend, then how about letting an old one return? We asked over 2,500 viewers who it should be:
Where did Gloria (Judith Chapman) go, 37% of you wonder. One minute she and Jack (Peter Bergman) were friends with benefits, and the next she was just gone. Not working at Jabot, not living in Genoa City, not even showing up for Michael (Christian J. Le Blanc) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart). Isn’t it time to pick up this dangling thread?
Danny’s (Michael Damien) sister, Gina (Patty Weaver), and Jack had a blink-and-you-missed-it fling. Jack didn’t appear to miss it, but 22% of the audience does. This is a couple that was never given a fair shake. Plus, she sings pretty.
Either 16% of the fans remember the sweet, innocent, virginal Patty (Lilibet Stern) that Jack married and cheated on… or the 20 years older psycho who came back to seek her revenge on him. One of those would be good for Jack to try again with.
Crazy Patty took on the identity of psychiatrist Emily (Stacy Haiduk). She wasn’t as crazy. She also wasn’t much younger than Jack. A mature, healthy relationship. That certainly would be new and refreshing to 14% of you.
Only 11% even remember Kelly (Cady McClain). She didn’t make much of an impression. And she was confusing. My husband watched her with Jack and wanted to know, “Why is Dixie Cooney kissing Cliff Warner?” The pairing is way too traumatic for All My Children fans. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
