On The Young and the Restless, Nick, more than any other Newman child, has come and gone from Victor’s company like he was strapped to a revolving door. Most recently, Victor (Eric Braeden) appointed Victoria (Amelia Heinle) CEO and proudly dubbed her Daddy’s Little Heir.
But then Adam (Mark Grossman) blackmailed Daddy into handing the reins over to him. Not to fast, Victoria said and blackmailed Victor into giving her the job back, even though he made a frowny face and mumbled about losing respect for her. Eh, Victoria shrugged, she can live with that. This is a very functional and emotionally healthy family we’ve got here.
But what of Nicholas (Joshua Morrow)? He quit the company in a huff years ago and gave away his trust fund because he believed Daddy was a bad man. Now, Daddy is a bad man, no question about that. But why throw away a fortune and a legacy because of it? Victor has made it clear he would most prefer if Nick were in charge. So should the prodigal son return to Newman? The word from over 2,000 of you:
Nick is fine where he is, 52% of the audience insists. He was never a good fit for Newman, he’s better off being his own man. Taking orders isn’t his style. And, as long as you sit in Victor’s chair, you take Victor’s orders. You got that?
A united front is the way to keep Adam at bay, 30% of the viewers suggest. Nick and Victoria should run Newman together.
Finally, 18% are tired of Nick coming and going. Just admit that the company – and Victor – have a hold on you, and take your rightful place at the right hand of God, so you can rule the galaxy as father and son. Victor will never leave you alone until you do. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
