Where have all the Ashbys gone on The Young and the Restless? Lily (Christel Khalil) is out of prison…but she insists on living out of town. Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) are presumably away at college by now. Baby Sam can change his own diapers. And Cane (Daniel Goddard) is on his way out.
But does it have to be that way? Why can’t Lily come home… even without Cane? How almost 5,000 viewers responded to the possibility:
Lily is a much bigger part of Genoa City than Cane ever was, 61% remind. She was born on screen! We saw her grow up! (Well, she skipped a bunch of years between preschool and high school, but that’s how a soap opera cookie crumbles.) We saw her with Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Daniel before Cane. We know she has options.
So let Cane run along on his merry way (hope he remembers the baby!), and bring Lily home to a fresh start.
Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Dru (Victoria Rowell) may be dead, but Devon (Bryton James) has forgiven Lily for killings his wife, and she has plenty of surrogate family, including the Newmans, and the Chancellors. She’ll be fine. And her kids will have someplace to come home to for vacations!
Did somebody ask for more Ashbys, 39% wonder? Because we certainly didn’t. Lily got a slap on the wrist for causing Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) death. You were hoping she’d go away for a good, long time.
And we know something fishy is going on with the whole Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) will situation. If Cane is behind it, he doesn’t deserve Lily or his kids. So why don’t they both run along and let Genoa City make do without them? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
