What could be more appropriate for greatest rivalry week on The Young and the Restless than a question about whether Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon (Sharon Case) should revive their multi-decade long rivalry? Here’s what almost 2,000 would like to see happen:
The winning 77% is really, really over it. It never seemed fair to begin with. When Nikki first started picking on Sharon, she was the reigning society diva of Genoa City… while Sharon was a working-class high-school girl who’d had the audacity to fall in love with her son.
After the births of Noah (Robert Adamson) and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind), Nikki was now denigrating her grandchildren’s mother. Which is, frankly, tacky.
Now that they’ve made their peace – even if it was only because Nikki learned Sharon is breast cancer – they’re both acting like mature adults. Let’s keep it that way, shall we?
Then again, 12% of The Young and the Restless fans are all in! Nikki is a blonde, blue-eyed ex-stripper turned great lady. Sharon is a blonde, blue-eyed ex-coffee server turned child therapist. They both even gave up babies for adoption and were later reunited with them! The two women have so much in common, it’s inevitable they’d think the other was intruding on her turf.
They are never going to like each other – breast cancer or no breast cancer. As long as they’re going to dislike each other, you might as well enjoy it. And that means back to the sniping, ASAP!
A last-place 11% is open for just one more great confrontation. One more round of name-calling, one more exchange of bitch slaps, maybe a push into a pond or a drink thrown in the face? You can’t just ask fans to go cold turkey… The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
