It was great to see rivals this past week on The Young and the Restless, which Genoa City certainly has an abundance of, and fans absolutely love watching. So this means we couldn’t resist the chance to ask fans to name their favorite of all time.
Whether it’s for business reasons, not being good enough for a family member, or fighting over a lover, YR certainly knows how to set up these types of relationships. But which one is tops? What over 2,500 viewers had to say:
A winner by a mile, 56% of you voted for Jill (Jess Walton) and Kay (Jeanne Cooper). This has been going on for decades! Jill stole Kay’s husband! Kay stole Jill’s son! They fought over his son! They fought over property! They fought over jewelry! They even fought over men. Oh, and Jill was believed to be Kay’s daughter for a while. Is there anything those two missed?
The only rivalry to come close, with 29% of the vote was Victor (Eric Braeden) versus Jack (Peter Bergman). They’ve fought over Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), they’ve shared Diane, and Victor regularly ensnared Jack’s sister, Ashley (Eileen Davidson). Plus, there were their respective companies. They keep taking them over. Don’t both of them have enough money?
Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) could only get 7% of you excited. Maybe it’s because the man they’ve shared, Nick (Joshua Morrow), isn’t that much of a catch. So why fight?
An even smaller 5% voted for Sharon and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Nikki has never liked her son’s many-times wife. She just can’t stomach the idea of a blonde, blue-eyed, innocent-looking piece of trailer trash social-climbing her way into the Newman family. Again.
Only 3% went with Lily (Christel Khalil) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan). While they were both on the show, all they did was snipe at each other. Ultimately, Lily accidentally killed Hilary, went to prison, and had to admit her sister-in-law was the greatest woman who ever lived. So we’ll call them square. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
