On The Young and the Restless, Victoria has decided she wants Billy back. Now that he has moved on with Lily. Victoria figures if she had to put up with Billy at his immature worst, she deserves to reap the benefits of his finally growing up. But does she have the right to feel that way? What over 4,000 viewers have to say about that:
A winning 88% of you believe that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) never accepted Billy for who he is, so she should just move on from that particular relationship and never look back. The fact is, she knows that none of Billy’s (Jason Thompson) changes ever last. How many times has he changed for her, the pair reunited, only for him to revert to form?
Right now, his relationship with Lily (Christel Khalil) is new, so he is on his best behavior. Sound familiar? Victoria shouldn’t want Billy back because she, of all people, knows that it’s only a temporary aberration. He’ll slip and turn back into the old Billy again. Let Lily deal with it, then, instead of Victoria. She’s served her time. We’re sorry she doesn’t remember how this story inevitably ends, time after time.
A smaller 12% of the audience understands Victoria’s impulse towards a reunion. She and Billy have children together. Johnny and Katie deserve to grow up in a home with two parents – something neither Billy nor Victoria had. Billy is a better dad when he has someone to keep him under control, and Lily won’t do that.
Only Victoria knows the man she needs Billy to be, so only Victoria can make him be that. Doesn’t Billy care about his kids? Doesn’t he care about his family? Victoria does. And she has the right to do anything she needs to in order to make them whole again. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listing for air times.
