The Young and the Restless, Jess Walton
Jill Foster Abbott expanded her family when she learned that Lauren Fenmore was her half-sister on The Young and the Restless, courtesy of Neil Fenmore — Lauren’s dad, also being Jill’s biological pop. Now, Walton’s real-life family is getting larger, too, thanks to a member getting engaged!
“My beautiful daughter @allisonjames_ is getting married!” Walton posted on Instagram. “My husband John and I are thrilled to be adding her fiancé, and his adorable son, to our growing family! ❤️”
Walton’s YR pals chimed in with congratulatory messages. “Yay! congrats 🎉❤️❤️,” posted Lauralee Bell (Christine). Added Tracey Bregman (Lauren): “Congrats Sissy!! ❤️”
Bregman’s TV husband, Christian Le Blanc (Michael), posted: “CONGRATS!!! ❤️🎉” Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) chimed in with: “Beautiful ❤️”
Kate Linder’s Esther has sparred with Walton’s Jill over the decades, but off-screen, they’re good pals! “So happy for all of you!! Congrats !” the actress tweeted. Allison replied: “Thank you Kate!”
Walton was an instant hit when she took over the front-burner role of Jill Foster Abbott on YR in 1987. Jill was in the process of finding a man to keep her rival Katherine Chancellor (the late Jeanne Cooper) busy so that she wouldn’t be so occupied with her son, Phillip (Thom Beirdz). She selected a homeless man she encountered in a park. He was given the handle Rex Sterling (Quinn Redeker), who turned out to be, in reality, Brian Romalotti, Danny (Michael Damian) and Gina Roma’s (Patty Weaver) dad.
Katherine and Rex, much to Jill’s chagrin, fell in love for real. The Katherine/Jill dynamic continued with both women teaming up against upstart Nina (Tricia Cast). Over the years, Katherine and Jill were bitter enemies, romantic rivals, unlikely partners in crime, plaintiff and defendant in court, mother and daughter (!) — well, they believed they were related — and finally, friends.
Soap Hub joins Walton’s costars on wishing her the best and to Allison and her fiancé on their upcoming wedding. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
