On The Young and the Restless, the beautiful but deadly Isabella ultimately failed to break up Paul and Christine as viewers saw again on the recently aired classic episodes. Now Isabella’s portrayer, Eva Longoria, is taking on a new venture which we have no doubt will succeed!

Eva Longoria Joins Stars For Soccer

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that a group of mostly women is bringing a pro soccer women’s team to Los Angeles, which is set to start playing in Spring 2022.

The team doesn’t have an official name, but the group putting it all together is calling itself Angel City to honor its base of operations — Los Angeles.

“I’m elated to help bring @weareangelcity to the City of Angels,” Longoria posted on Instagram. “Welcome to the beginning. #WeAreAngelCity.”

Leading the group is President Julie Uhrman. The investor team is comprised of tennis champion Serena Williams and her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. and actors Longoria, Natalie Portman (Black Swan), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), America Ferrera (Ugly Betty; Superstore), and Jennifer Garner (Alias), along with other notable investors including former U.S. Women’s National Team players. For the full release, go to the National Women’s Soccer League website.

“Today we take an exciting step by announcing the first women majority-owned and led ownership group,” Portman said. “I am thrilled by the opportunity to partner with this incredible group of people to bring a professional women’s soccer team to Los Angeles. Together, we aim to build not only a winning team on the field, but also to develop a passionately loyal fan base. We also hope to make a substantive impact on our community, committing to extending access to sports for young people in Los Angeles through our relationship with the LA84 Foundation.

“Sports are such a joyful way to bring people together, and this has the power to make tangible change for female athletes both in our community and in the professional sphere,” Portman, who won the Oscar for her performance in Black Swan, adds. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
