Melissa Claire Egan on The Young and the Restless
Years ago on The Young and the Restless, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) gave up custody of her son, Johnny, to his birth dad Billy and his wife Victoria. Not familiar with Johnny’s backstory? Egan recently chatted with fans on Instagram who had some questions about this part of Chelsea’s life.
“Getting a bunch of #YR story questions about Johnny being my biological child,” Egan shared on social media. “So…🤣 I had Johnny, he was my baby with Billy (Jason Thompson), Adam (Mark Grossman) delivered him in a cabin when I fell through the lake, like 9 years ago. Then I gave him up for adoption to Victoria (Amelia Heinle). You know, it happens!!! Let me know if there are any other questions!!!”
Viewers took Egan up on her offer, including one fan, @twake60, who asked if child actors weren’t working due to COVID-19. “Unfortunately no:(” Egan responded.
“Why is Johnny younger than your other son [Connor, Judah Mackey] with Adam 😂😂😂,” asked @klb325. Egan replied: “He’s not! Ha.” In response, @klb325 replied: “Whenever they actually show him he’s younger than, Christian as well, soap opera ages jump up and down 😂.”
One poster, @christina_chris_henry3673, hopes that Chelsea goes after custody “as Billy and Victoria are terrible parents!”
“The show I’m watching, they’re great co-parents and trying to [do] the best for their kids,” replied @amywinstonpics.
