Camryn Grimes gives birth to her baby boy.
The Young and the Restless’ Mariah Copeland is having fun being a mom to baby Aria, a role that echos in real life since the actress Camryn Grimes gave birth to her son. Today, though, it’s all about her as she is being celebrated.
That’s because she was born on January 7, 1990, in Van Nuys, California, which means that this talented actress is turning 34 years old today! Having been bitten by the acting bug in her very early youth, Grimes pursued a career in the field and first appeared in front of a camera at the age of 7 on CBS’ JAG.
Just a few months later — March 19 to be exact — Grimes debuted on Y&R where she would play Cassidy “Cassie” Newman for the next 10 years.
During her time at Y&R, Grimes still made appearances in other television programs and films. On the small screen, she was seen in Medium, ER, and Sharing the Secret. In 2001, she appeared in the Halle Berry/John Travolta/Hugh Jackman-starring crime thriller Swordfish, and in 2005, she was in the short film Paper Bags.
Her portrayal of Cassie eventually earned Grimes a Daytime Emmy, specifically the 2000 Outstanding Younger Actress award. In a double reward, winning the statuette resulted in Grimes gaining the distinction of being its youngest recipient — besting Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin, General Hospital), the previous record holder.
Grimes later played out a storyline that saw Cassie die from injuries sustained in a car accident. She made frequent appearances on the soap as Cassie’s ghost or spirit before returning permanently in 2014 — albeit in a brand new role. This time she was Cassie’s heretofore-unknown twin Mariah Copeland.
Outside of daytime, Grimes has also appeared in Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, NCIS: Los Angeles, Make It or Break It, The Mentalist, Animal Kingdom, and, NCIS.
In her private life, Camryn is engaged to Brock Powell in 2022. The couple welcomed their son, Bridger Elias, in December 2023.
