In a case of life imitating art, Camryn Grimes, like her The Young and the Restless character Mariah, has become a new mom. The two-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress and the baby’s father, Brock Powell, have welcomed their firstborn child.
Camryn Grimes: It’s A Boy
While Mariah and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) have a daughter, Grimes and Powell have welcomed a boy. Bridger Elias arrived on Wednesday, December 13. The proud new father shared the news with his Instagram followers via an Instagram story. He shared a sweet photo of the baby boy with the words, “Welcome to the world Bridger Elias. There’s a whole lot to share with you and a whole lot to learn from you. But, for now…baby steps Little B.” The baby’s aunt shared a sweet photo of the little boy, which you can see below.
Later, Grimes shared a post with a beautiful picture of her son. “Dad and I never liked waiting for Christmas either…Bridger Elias Foster, 12 • 13 • 23. Our little family’s future is merry & bright.”
Grimes first let her followers know that she and Powell were welcoming a baby with a post that read, “BABY FOSTER ARRIVING DEC 2023.” The word “Foster” led some to believe that Grimes was going to foster a child, but she clarified, “For those wondering…Foster is our LAST name, sorry for the confusion! Lol.”

Grimes recently shared on social media that her bundle of joy is not only the first grandkid in the family but also the first great-grandkid. So, it’s safe to say that Bridger Elias just might be doted on with extra love in light of this bit of news.
Grimes made her daytime debut as a little one herself on Y&R in 1997 as Cassidy “Cassie” Newman, the daughter of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Fearing that Sharon and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) son, Noah, wasn’t going to live, Grace (Jennifer Gareis) and Tony (Nick Scotti) went in search of Cassie, hoping to bring together the little girl with her mother. Eventually, Sharon and Cassie were reunited, and Nick adopted her. Cassie’s untimely death in 2005 remains one of Y&R’s most emotionally heartbreaking moments. Grimes continued to appear occasionally as Cassie’s spirit. The show then decided to cast her as Mariah Copeland, Cassie’s long-lost missing twin, in 2014.
Grimes and Powell have appeared together in a few animated projects. They are reprising voicing the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus in the animated movie Mickey’s Christmas Tales. They first played the roles in 2022’s (SPOILER ALERT!) Mickey Saves Christmas. (Read our interview about it here.) Soap Hub congratulates the new parents on their new bundle of joy. There’s no word yet on Grimes taking a maternity leave from Y&R.
