Farewell Hilary: How Her Exit Will Completely Change The Young and the Restless

Mishael Morgan has said goodbye to the soap she’s called home for five years, and her exit as Hilary will completely change The Young and the Restless.

Since joining the soap in 2013, Morgan has emerged as one of Y&R’s most mesmerizing leading ladies.

She’s driven the bulk of the action in the Winters-Hamilton family and dished the town’s drama as hostess of Genoa City Buzz.

But when Morgan and the show’s brass couldn’t come to terms on a new contract, she decided to cut ties and move on. Sadly, Hilary’s departure will leave Y&R with a great big hole.

Diva Drama
Y&R without Hilary will be like Melrose Place without Amanda, The O.C. without Julie, and, going way back, Dynasty without Alexis. Y&R will still be a great show, but without its key vixen.

Nobody was better at stirring up trouble and bringing the diva drama. Whenever something bitchy was brewing, Hilary was at the center of it. She was always delightfully wicked and totally captivated the audience.

Nemeses No More
Were there any spats better than Hilary’s with Lily (Christel Khalil)? Lily never missed an opportunity to let Hilary know it and called her out on every twisted scheme she ever plotted.

A close second was Hilary and her GC Buzz co-host Mariah. Their constant bickering, much of which aired live on their TV show, was deliciously real and candid. The two women were always entertaining, sniping and taking constant jabs at each other.

The fact that the women ended up close friends, in the end, makes this all the more heartbreaking and consequential for Mariah.

Hevon Reunion
Just when it looked like Hilary and Devon were finally finding their way back to one another — and happily expecting their first child together — the whole thing went up in smoke.

“Hevon” fans were heartbroken. After years of hoping and patiently waiting for the couple’s reconciliation, it was on the brink of happening. Now, sadly, it’s definitively over.

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
