Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of February 5, 2018
Big news on the exit front. It looks like the soap is about lose one of its most popular leading ladies. Melissa Claire Egan has reportedly decided not to renew her contract with the show, so she can pursue other projects. Egan has played Chelsea since 2011.
Darnell Kirkwood is returning as photographer Jordan Wilde, Chelsea’s former scamming partner. The character was last seen in Genoa City in December 2017.
Y&R has put out casting calls for four new roles. One is for a tall, dark and handsome African-American male, between the ages of 30 and 40, to play Don.
The soap is also searching for a 20-something to play the beautiful and ambitious Claire, as well as an actor in his late twen-ties/early thirties to portray the charming and sophisticated Caleb. A female teen is also being sought to play the lovely and spunky Ella.
