Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles?
Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of October 1, 2018
Get ready for a new Summer Newman, albeit just for three episodes. Bayley Corman, who’s appeared on Modern Family, Jane the Virgin and Two Broke Girls, steps in for Hunter King on Tuesday, October 2, Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4.
King had to leave the soap to film CBS sitcom Life in Pieces, where she plays Clementine. However, she’ll be back on air as Summer on Friday, October 5.
Eileen Davidson wraps up her run as Ashley Abbott with a big dramatic exit, this week. Although Mal Young has said on the record that she’ll be back for more story, Davidson claims that’s not true, but could maybe pop back up for parties and family events.
The long-missing Faith Newman, who’s been away at camp, is set to resurface. Alyvia Alyn Lind returns as Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter on Tuesday, October 2 to attend her parents’ wedding.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
