The week of January 18, 2021
After preemptions, the CBS soap crossover has some new airdates. The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darin Brooks made an appearance as Wyatt Spencer on The Young and the Restless on Friday, January 15. He’ll interact with Hunter King’s Summer Newman and Michael Mealor’s Kyle Abbott when they visit Los Angeles to discuss Wyatt’s former fiance, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Brooks will also air in scenes with King and Mealor on Thursday, January 21.
Evelina Martinez has been playing Meredith, Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) nurse. The actress already had a connection to Egan. It seems she and Egan have been close friends for years.
YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
