Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of January 15, 2018
Jason Canela, last seen as Omar Robles on Fox baseball drama Pitch, is heading to the soap. He’ll be playing Arturo, a hunky building contractor with lots of charm and sex appeal, who uses his assets to influence his client.
Canela is also a former telenovela star, who’s appeared on Donde Esta Elisa, Cosita Linda and Ruta 35. Look for his character to begin appearing in early February.
Melissa Ordway has headed off on maternity leave. The actress gave birth to a daughter, Sophie, on December 9. To coincide with the off-screen move, Abby has been sent off to Paris on Newman Enterprises business. Abby will still be seen on occasion via telephone calls, which Ordway pre-taped before leaving the show.
Jenica Bergere is back as Kathy on Monday, January 15.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your lo-cal listings for air times.
