Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR) for April 1-5, 2019? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The week of April 1, 2019
Adam Newman is being resurrected from the dead, yet again. Mark Grossman has nabbed the role of the black sheep son of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), which was previously played by Justin Hartley, Michael Muhney and Chris Engen. Fans of the Freeform series Famous in Love will recognize Grossman for his role as Shane/London.

The soap’s tribute to the late Kristoff St. John and memorial to his character Neil Winters will feature three significant actors from his past. Set to return are Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm), Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla) and Mishael Morgan (ex-Hilary).

Tonya Lee Williams (ex-Olivia) won’t be heading back for the special episodes, as she is out of the country working on another project.

Brooks Darnell is out as Dr. Nate Hastings. The actor, who joined the soap last July, has been replaced by daytime newcomer Sean Dominic. Dominic’s most notable credit is the role of Jabari Johnson on the Own series Greenleaf.

Eileen Davidson is back as Ashley Abbott on Monday, April 1. Jennifer Taylor portrays Rebekah Barlow on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5. Mitch Eakins plays Brandon Rose on Friday, April 5. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
