Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of February 25, 2019
A hero and a heel will soon be returning to the Genoa City fold.
First, the heel. Thad Luckinbill, who played the abusive J.T. Hellstrom, is reportedly back on set. The soap’s official Twitter page released the news along with a photo and a cryptic message to “Stay tuned.”
J.T. was “killed off” back in April of 2018. However, his body mysteriously disappeared from the grave where Nikki, Victoria, Sharo,n and Phyllis dumped it. Luckinbill last appeared on the soap in July 2018, when Nick was impersonating the character and, supposedly, wearing a mask. The actor’s first airdate has yet to be released.
On the hero front, beloved YR vet Doug Davidson is back taping scenes as cop Paul Williams. Davidson has been off contract since January 2018 and barely appeared on the soap last year. He’s set to begin airing again March 25.
Also heading back to the YR canvas is Beth Maitland as Traci Abbott. The actress revealed the news of her return on Twitter.
