The Young and the Restless C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The week of September 21, 2020

Good news for Elizabeth Hendrickson fans. The actress, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Josephine James, in March, has wrapped her maternity leave. Hendrickson shared the news that she’s back on set filming scenes as Chloe Mitchell on social media. Her first airdate has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more information.

Will we see Chloe have her own baby? She was already in false labor earlier this winter before the soap was forced to shut down production due to the pandemic. Remember, Chloe is set to have a baby boy and even had her baby shower.

Also slated to pop back in sometime soon is vet Doug Davidson, who has played detective Paul Williams since 1978. Davidson confirmed his return on Twitter when a fan inquired about his next appearance on the CBS soap. However, he cautioned not to get “too excited” about it since he was just back for four pages of script. No word on his air date, either. We do know that fans want to see him back on a more permanent basis, so maybe the soap will listen.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
