Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of August 24, 2020
The Bold and the Beautiful’s loss is apparently The Young and the Restless’ gain. Courtney Hope, who was surprisingly written off BB as Sally Spectra, has found a new home on CBS sister soap YR.
The actress shared the news on Instagram along with a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap with the YR logo and holding a Crimson Lights coffee mug.
Hope made her BB debut as the grandniece of the original Sally Spectra, portrayed by the late Darlene Conley, in January 2017. Her three year run on the soap came to an end in early August.
There’s no word yet as to whom Hope will be playing on YR, nor her first air date. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge. Might she be playing Sally or a whole new character? It wouldn’t be the first time characters from these sister soaps crossed soaps. Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) spent several years on BB and Amber (Adrienne Frantz) moved from BB to YR and back to BB again through the years. Sally could certainly shake things up over in Genoa City.
Please note that air dates may be subject to change. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
