Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future? Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day-player roles?

The Young and the Restless C&G News

Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The week of March 29, 2021

Neil Winters’ (the late Kristoff St. John) long-missing son is heading back to Genoa City. Jacob Aaron Gaines has been cast as Moses Winters. Look for Moses, who had been living in New York City with his mother, Sofia (Julia Pace Mitchell), to arrive in town on Thursday, April 1.

The role marks Gaines’ daytime debut. However, the actor had previously appeared on the TV series Dimensional Shift, and he had a supporting role in the Netflix feature Fatal Affair.

Elizabeth Leiner has been upped to contract status with the soap. The actress, who portrays Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) old flame, Tara Locke, was originally hired as a recurring player. She made her first appearance on March 1.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change.

The Young and the Restless History

YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
