The Young and the Restless C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The week of February 15, 2021
Due to last week’s preemptions, Don Diamont will now turn up in Genoa City as Bill Spencer on Thursday, February 18. The move is part of a YR/The Bold and the Beautiful crossover story playing across both soaps.

Ptosha Storey is back for another appearance as Naya Benedict. Look for Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) long lost mother to air on Wednesday, February 17.

Krystal Mosley pops in as a Desk Clerk at The Grand Phoenix hotel
on Friday, February 19.

It was a quick in-and-out appearance by Tyler Johnson. He wrapped up his two-day visit as Theo Vanderway and headed back to Paris — after telling Sally (Courtney Hope) a secret about Kyle (Michael Mealor).

The Young and the Restless History

YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
