The Young and Restless Star Cait Fairbanks Readies Her New Single

While her alter ego on The Young and the Restless busies herself with composing on-the-spot loved ballads for her feverishly pregnant girlfriend, actress and musician Cait Fairbanks has been concerning herself with the creation of a brand new single.

Fairbanks took to Instagram to tease that her latest offering, titled Gatorade, was alive, and well, and preparing for release. The track was penned by Fairbanks, Mia Minichiello, and “mrmatiasmora.”

Fairbanks began her acting career at the age of 8, and since that time she has appeared in over 20 professional and regional theater productions – including 13 (the musical) and the Off-Broadway production of Heathers: The Musical – as well as seven primetime television programs.

In addition to her acting, the talented dynamo is an accomplished lyricist, musician, and vocalist. She has been recording music since 2016, and as of Fall 2018, she performs under the stage name Ginesse.

Fairbanks joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in March 2016. Her character, Tessa Porter, was initially a homeless waif taken under the wing of society matron Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who recognized the young woman’s musical talents.

For a time, Tessa was involved in a romance with fellow arts lover Noah Newman, but for most of her onscreen tenure, she has been one half of same-sex super couple “Teriah” (or do some call them Messa?) – the fan designated smush name for Tessa and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).

In 2019, Fairbanks penned an original piece for the soap, How Could a Lie Feel So True, which netted her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Best Original Song; she was also nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actress category in 2018.
