Dylan was forced to leave Genoa City forever, when he entered the Witness Protection Plan.
Once his cover was blown on his undercover operation, it was the only way to protect him and the people he loves from the dangerous drug cartel looking to take him down.
Dylan’s (Steve Burton) poignant goodbyes to his wife Sharon (Sharon Case), father Paul (Doug Davidson) and mother Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) were all heartbreaking; particularly since he would never see any of them again.
Now that he’s gone, those who loved Dylan are left with a huge void in their lives. Soap Hub asked fans of The Young and the Restless who is suffering the biggest loss.
Sharon: The Wife
Dylan’s devoted wife Sharon scored a whopping 70% of the vote. Dylan was her husband — her everything, and his exit has left her totally alone. Poor Sharon was just beginning to adjust to a life without “Sully,” and now another member of her beloved family has been taken away from her. Her heartbreak is unparalleled.
Paul: The Dad
Some 17% of you believe Paul is suffering the biggest loss. It’s the second time he’s lost a son. Granted, Dylan is still alive and well, but for all intents and purposes he’s “dead” to Paul. The duo was finally connecting as father and son and had formed a strong bond. Now, it’s over, seemingly forever.
Nikki: The Mom
Nothing can compare to the loss Nikki is feeling as Dylan’s mother, say 9% of you. She only found Dylan a few short years ago.
From that moment on, she totally opened up her heart to him and welcomed him into her family. Having to be separated from him again, this time forever, is something no mother should ever have to endure.
Hard to Choose
The remaining 3% of you can’t really say who’s suffering the biggest loss since Dylan’s exit. You feel Sharon, Paul and Nikki are all hurting tremendously.
Plus, they have to bear the burden of keeping the true details of Dylan’s departure from so many people they know and love. It’s going to be a tough road ahead for all of them.
