The tension is coming to a boil on The Young and the Restless (YR)!
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) caught JT (Thad Luckinbill) abusing Victoria (Amelia Heinle). She hit him over the head with a fire poker, inadvertently killing him.
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Sharon (Sharon Case) helped bury him. Now the latter is freaking out and ready to crack, while the former is determined to make sure that doesn’t happen.
All the women are keeping secrets from their loved ones, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) is in agony, wondering where his dad went, Paul (Doug Davidson) is snooping around, and the noose is tightening. So Reed chooses to… leave town? Does that feel weird to anyone?
Almost 5,000 fans are confused:
When the Going Gets Tough…
It’s pretty suspicious, 66% of you agree. Why now? You would think Reed would want to stay in Genoa City, the last place his dad lived, in the hope that he’ll be there when JT comes back.
Plus, it’s where his siblings are, his mom, his grandfather, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson)… that ended before it began, didn’t it?
Why would a boy who just lost his dad be so eager to go somewhere where he doesn’t know anyone at all? Reed clearly isn’t thinking straight.
The Tough Get Going
On the other hand, 34% of the audience muses, maybe it makes perfect sense. What if Reed knows something about what happened?
What if he knew his dad was abusive from the years when Reed lived with JT and Mac (Kelley Kruger)? What if Reed feels guilty about not having warned Victoria?
Furthermore, what if Reed knows what Victoria did, understands why she did it, and is afraid he might blow his mother’s secret? What if he’s getting out of town to protect not himself, but her? That would explain the unexpected departure.
