Despite mumbled threats from Victor and concrete legal concerns from Amanda, Billy went ahead and published his expose on the Newman family on The Young and the Restless.
The Young and the Restless Polling
Lily (Christel Khalil) was furious that he did it without consulting with her, his business partner. Amanda (Mishael Morgan) was furious that he opened the company to so many lawsuits.
Victor (Eric Braeden) was furious that he no longer has the power to make people do what he says merely by the volume of his bellow, and Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) were furious that Billy (Jason Thompson) dared to publish the truth about Adam when, instead of setting him free, the truth made Adam sad. But how do fans feel about Billy’s actions? We got over 2,000 votes to explain it:
Cruel and Unusual
Billy just doesn’t get it, 80% of you sigh. There are people who do bad things and need to be punished for it – like when Lily went to prison for killing Hilary, or Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) gets treated as a pariah for going on three decades now.
And then there are people who do bad things and should just be patted on the head and forgiven. Those people are Victor and Adam. It was downright cruel of Billy to bring up all the crimes they’ve never been punished for. It makes the people of Genoa City feel a wee bit hypocritical about how they judge their fellow citizens. So let’s keep burying the truth and pretending we treat everyone exactly the same way, K?
Four Freedoms
Billy told the truth, and he’s a member of the press, a small 20% of the audience counters. He had every right to do what he did. Adam keeps getting away with his crimes. Killing Delia may have been an accident. Killing AJ may have been an accident. But that’s only scratching the tip of the iceberg. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
