Y&R spoilers tease that Victor Newman tried to talk son-in-law Chance Chancellor out of investigating Ashland Locke’s death by reminding him that family should come first. Wouldn’t Chance much rather be spending his time at home with Victor’s daughter, Abby Newman Chancellor, and Victor’s grandson, Dominic Of the Many Last Names, instead of digging around in filthy, damp ravines, looking for evidence that obviously isn’t there? Chance didn’t look convinced. Which means it’s time for Victor to bring out the big guns.
Y&R Spoilers Wild Speculation: Past Precedent
Victor (Eric Braeden) never lets anyone forget that nothing is more important to him than families and that his children and grandchildren must be protected at all costs. He only wants what’s best for them.
Except that is, when one child or grandchild’s interests don’t dovetail with what Victor wants. Remember how, in order to make sure that Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) didn’t move out of Genoa City with his grandson Christian, Victor first sued for custody of the boy himself?
Then Victor backed up Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) quest to get custody of the biological child Nick had raised from the day Christian was born (well, except for the time Sharon Rosales had him, but we’re not going there at the moment). Victor was even OK with Christian being removed from Nick’s home. It was, after all, for the boy’s own good. No child should be raised by a father who didn’t obey his own father.
Y&R Spoilers: Daughter Dearest
Taking that into consideration, would you put it past Victor to use Dominic against Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance (Conner Floyd)? Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) has already demanded – and won – joint custody of Dominic. Y&R spoilers speculate what if he were to ask for more? Full custody. After all, it would be awful for Dominic to live in a home where his stepfather is out to put his beloved grandfather behind bars. Taking Dominic from Abby would solve that problem. It would be best for Dominic. Victor would have to swear to as much in court. Unless, of course, Chance were to back off…. for Dominic’s sake, of course.
