Y&R spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor experiences difficulties adjusting to life in Genoa City after being away for nearly a year on an undercover assignment. While Chance received news that all the bad guys faced prison, we speculate that Dylan McAvoy was part of Chance’s assignment, and he’ll soon show up in town.
While many of Chance’s (Conner Floyd) guys died in the safe house explosion, we think perhaps Dylan (Steve Burton) was away at the time. So now Dylan’s hiding out somewhere, much like Chance hid out until Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) found him and talked him into coming home.
Unfortunately, Dylan doesn’t have anybody like that at this time since he and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) divorced after he went into witness protection. Sure, maybe his mother Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) might wonder, but really there’s no reason for her to consider it.
However, we predict that Chance will inadvertently spill the beans about Dylan’s involvement. Whether he ends up talking to Sharon as his counselor, or he somehow manages to drop a hint to Nikki when they’re together at some family event, we could see the New Year bringing a hunt for Dylan. We’d love to see Y&R spoilers tease Nikki engaging in a search for her other son — she needs something meaty to do.
In addition to livening up Nikki’s life, we think Dylan could throw a wrench into Sharon’s. Things with her and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) are fine but not great. It’s possible that Dylan’s return could make Sharon rethink her current life choices. And adding another brother to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) plate could shake him up too.
While Steve Burton is available after General Hospital recently let him go, it’s unclear if Y&R would hire him to reprise Dylan. Of course, if they can’t, bringing Dylan back is still as easy as recasting. They could either recast with no explanation or reveal that Dylan had plastic surgery in witness protection.
After several years, couldn’t the threat against Dylan be gone, just like the threat against Chance fizzled? What do you think? Would you enjoy Dylan returning alongside Chance? Let us know in the comments section below.
