Y&R spoilers hint at an upcoming custody battle over baby Dominic. After Devon Hamilton asked for formalized visitation, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor made it clear that she and Chance Chancellor have no plans to amend their agreement. However, as Chance continues to adjust to life back in Genoa City, we speculate that Abby will realize Devon is a better dad for Dominic than her husband.
With Chance (Conner Floyd) considering going back to work at the Genoa City Police Department, Abby (Melissa Ordway) seems disheartened. His apparent excitement over Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) case irked Abby, especially considering that Chance can’t seem that excited over her or their son.
Abby started to think twice about the way things were going. Although she’s tried to smooth it over, Abby wasn’t thrilled that Chance left her alone shortly after their wedding. Recently, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) warned Chance to pick a less dangerous job.
Chance might be reasonable about delaying his return to the force, but he misses it. Even if he tries to pretend he’s okay with not working just yet, it will cause him some issues, especially since it doesn’t look like he has any plans of finding a different line of work. Chance seems destined to make himself miserable in an attempt to please Abby. Ultimately, it will be hard for her not to compare Chance with Devon and find him lacking.
Y&R spoilers hint that Chance is making an effort to learn how to be a dad to Dominic, but their bonding seems to be slow going. Meanwhile, Devon (Bryton James) is already closely bonded with the baby. He’s ready and willing to step right in and be Dominic’s dad. Although Abby tried to set boundaries, we wonder if she might end up needing to rely on Devon again during an emergency or for some other reason.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is pushing Devon to go back to court to get a new legal agreement regarding Dominic. However, we predict that in a surprising twist, Abby may be the person who ends up initiating a new contract in the end.
