Y&R spoilers have been filled with news that Michael Mealor is returning to his role as Kyle Abbott, which instantly made fans wonder if Hunter King would be following suit. After all, King plays Summer Newman Abbott, Kyle’s wife, and it would be off for him to come home to Genoa City without her.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
“It’s just for a little while,” Skyle shippers insist. “He’s only here to meet his long-lost mom, and he doesn’t want to uproot his and Summer’s life in Italy on an impulse.” But what if there’s a more nefarious reason?
Remember When?
Kyle’s track record with women is not exactly what anyone would call…good. Remember when he wanted nothing to do with Summer? When he was so in love with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) that Kyle was willing to marry Summer in order to save Lola’s life?
Kyle promised Summer he would stay away from Lola for a year. But he couldn’t do it. He loved Lola so much that he confessed all, divorced Summer, and married Lola in a romantic ceremony, promising “till death do us part.” They talked houses. They talked babies. They gave each other meaningful gifts at Christmas. So cute, so sweet, so in love.

But then, seemingly overnight, Kyle decided that the reason he no longer felt connected to Lola wasn’t because he was jealous of her success with her restaurant or her friendship with enemy turned relative Theo Vanderway. It was because he was fooling himself by thinking he ever loved Lola.
It was Summer all along! Kyle loved Summer so much that he confessed all, divorced Lola, and married Summer in a romantic ceremony, promising “till death do us part.” They moved to Italy together and set up a household with little Harrison. So cute, so sweet, so in love.
Young and the Restless: Time’s Up
We did the math. Kyle is right on schedule to dump this latest love of his life and move on. How convenient that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) showing up in Genoa City is just the excuse he needs to put distance between him and Summer, the same way he once did with Lola.
