Y&R spoilers reveal that Ashland Locke’s cancer treatment isn’t working, so he and Victoria roped Nate Hastings into helping find hope for a new treatment. However, we can’t help but wonder if Ashland even has cancer at all.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation: The Mustache & The Locke-Ness Monster
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t buy that his father quickly forgave Ashland (Richard Burgi) for all his sins. Victor (Eric Braeden) readily accepted his new son-in-law into the Newman family fold, which doesn’t sit right with his eldest son. It also doesn’t sit right with us.
Given Nick’s apparent focus on how strangely Victor is acting when it comes to Ashland, we can’t help but wonder if The Mustache and the Locke-Ness Monster somehow teamed up behind the scenes to pull a fast one on everyone.
Sure, family supposedly means everything to Victor. Still, he hasn’t hesitated to pull the rug out from under Victoria (Amelia Heinle) or the rest of his children in the past when it suited his plans. He’s warred with Victoria, Nick, Adam (Mark Grossman), and Abby (Melissa Ordway) when he needed to.
Shady Plans and Pasts
We think Victor found out about Ashland’s shady past quite some time ago. Y&R spoilers would show that in order to save Newman Enterprises from the disastrous bad press should the details come out, Victor and Ashland concocted a scheme. The goal? To get Ashland and Victoria to the altar. Now that they’ve gotten Victoria to say “I Do” to Ashland, the next part of their plan will be set in motion.
Given his difficulties with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and other problematic aspects of his background, they decided to pay a doctor to fake cancer for Ashland so Victoria would feel sympathy for him. It worked too, and despite learning the worst about Ashland, Victoria went through with the wedding, and she convinced Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to keep the whole thing under wraps.
Now we suspect Ashland will get a miracle treatment to “cure” his cancer, and he’ll be around for a long time to come. The two families and businesses remain cemented together, and we predict Ashland will further Victor’s vision alongside Victoria.
