Y&R spoilers make it clear that Victor Newman’s job is to stick his nose into anything concerning his family members. Whether they want him to or not. Now that it looks like Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor and Chance Chancellor are over and done, Victor is required to know why.

However, Chance (Conner Floyd) might actually prove to be one of those people who does not wish to air his dirty laundry for all and sundry — especially his father-in-law. We can see Chance being classy, protecting Abby (Melissa Ordway), and just saying that they decided to call it quits — it’s nobody’s fault.

Victor (Eric Braeden), who doesn’t understand the concept of discretion and seeing his precious Abby upset — sure, he’s the kid he sees least, but he’ll get around to her, sooner or later — is bound to assume that Chance is at fault here. And if Chance is at fault, that means Victor needs to see him punished.
We can imagine Victor calling up his old flunkie, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) — off-screen, of course — and demanding that Chance be removed from the Genoa City Police Force. His being so caught up in his work is what led to the end of Chance and Abby’s marriage, Victor has decided.

Chance isn’t going to like that. Chance is going to want to strike back. And Chance has the perfect means to do it. Remember how Chance suppressed evidence connecting Victor to Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death? Because Abby asked him to? Because they were family?
Well, guess what? They’re not family anymore. And if Victor wants to play dirty. Chance can come and play, too. Will The Mustache be hoisted by his own petard? Will he ever admit that he’s the one who got himself into this mess? Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets!
