Y&R spoilers keep promising us a huge payoff to the Mamie working with Tucker maybe for Chancellor-Winters, maybe against it, we don’t know, and how does Jill fit in, anyway?

Lily (Christel Khalil) speculated to Devon (Bryton James) that maybe Mamie (Veronica Redd) is trying to make it so that Jill (Jess Walton) is pushed out of the company Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) first husband started, leaving Mamie’s family to run it. But we have another idea. See what you think.

Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend

We all know Mamie hates Jill. We all know that Mamie has many, many good reasons to hate Jill. But we also know that Mamie loves the Abbott children. She raised Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Traci (Beth Maitland), and was more of a mother to them than Dina (Marla Adams) could ever imagine.

We also know that Mamie had strong feelings for John (Jerry Douglas). Mamie wouldn’t want to see John’s life work destroyed. And she would not want her Abbott babies to lose their family company. Which is what would happen if Tucker’s (Trevor St. John) plan with Kyle (Michael Mealor) to take over Jabot succeeds. So Mamie has to bite the bullet, grin and bear it, and….

The B*tch is Back

….Team up with Jill. Yes, we know it’s counter-intuitive. Yes, we know that Mamie doesn’t have any more reason to trust Jill than she does Tucker. Except one reason: Jill wants to safeguard Kay’s legacy from Tucker as much as Mamie wants to do the same with Jabot. So teaming up together will serve both their interests.

Watch and Learn

And it will also serve our interests. Mamie and Jill being forced to work together for the sake of those they love will be TV gold. They’ll bicker. They’ll snark. They’ll tear at old wounds. But, in the end, they will also win. Because a team-up like this is unbeatable.
