Y&R spoilers teased us with the possibility of a kindler, gentler Phyllis. One who understands boundaries. One who lets her children lead their own lives and make their own decisions without poking her nose into their business. Yeah, that’s not going to happen.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) made it clear to Daniel (Michael Graziadei) that she will never stop protecting her children. Because the last time she supposedly did so, it worked out so well. Phyllis has decided that Daniel, Heather (Vail Bloom), and Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Bryant) need to live all together as a happy family with Granny Phyllis. And here is how she intends to make it happen.
Y&R: Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend
If there is one thing Phyllis understands, it’s that hate and loathing make strange bedfellows. Phyllis hates Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). But she was willing to work with them to get rid of Diane (Susan Walters), whom they all hate even more.
Same dealio here. Phyllis doesn’t love Heather. But Heather is Lucy’s nominal mother. Which means where Heather goes, Lucy goes. So, if Phyllis wants her granddaughter in Genoa City, she is going to have to bring her mother to Genoa City. And bringing Heather to Genoa City means reuniting her with Daniel. Unless…there is another move.
Y&R Spoilers: Flick a Switch
Heather isn’t really Lucy’s mother. A nutcase named Daisy is. So what if Phyllis were to bring Daisy to town, instead? Lucy wouldn’t be able to resist meeting her biological mother. Which would make Heather jealous. Which would make her want to reinforce her place in Lucy’s life. And what’s a better way to reinforce her place in Lucy’s life than by reuniting with Lucy’s dad?
For his part, Daniel will want to keep Lucy as far away from Daisy as possible. And what better way to do that than to dump Lily (Christel Khalil) and make it clear to Daisy that their daughter is perfectly happy with her intact family: Mommy, Daddy, Little Girl. Daisy isn’t wanted. Except by Phyllis. Who will use her to make what she wants to happen…happen?
