On The Young and the Restless, Ashland Locke saved Victoria Newman Locke when she got into an accident on a foggy night. Unfortunately, that car crash ended Rey Rosales’s life, but according to Victoria’s lying liar of a husband, it absolutely was not her fault. Nope, not at all. Y&R spoilers hint that despite Ashland’s assurances she didn’t cause the wreck, Victoria will struggle to come to terms with the situation.
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
While Ashland (Robert Newman) insisted that Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) was in Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) lane on that ill-fated night, we all know that Ashland has a serious problem with telling the truth. Lying is all he knows, so we suspect that he created a story that would best suit his needs as soon as he rescued Victoria from her burning car, and there are several ways the whole thing could go.
Young and the Restless: True Love
One, Ashland could simply be trying to save his estranged wife the heartache of actually knowing she caused the accident that took Rey’s life. If he really loves her the way he says he does, maybe that was the only motivation he needed.
Y&R Spoilers: A Second Chance
Of course, if Victoria’s gratitude at being saved from certain death happens to result in her deciding to give him another chance, who is Ashland to say no? Perhaps he had a bit more ulterior motive other than love for Victoria. Maybe Ashland hoped to use the situation to regain his wife’s (and her family’s) trust and worm his way back into her life, prolonging their marriage built on lies. After all, when he’s already told so many falsehoods, what harm could another one do?
Young and Restless Blackmail
However, there could be an even more sinister reason behind Ashland’s lie that it was Rey and not Victoria who caused the accident. Maybe he’s hoping to blackmail Victoria into sticking with him and keeping him as co-CEO of Newman Locke.
Perhaps as the weeks go on, he’ll start to tell her the truth of what happened and prey on her vulnerability in the wake of the tragic event to get what he wants. After all, he didn’t earn his Locke Ness Monster nickname for nothing. Do you think Ashland is lying? Let us know in the comments below.
