The Y&R spoilers for Friday, June 24, 2022, promise shifting family dynamics, as Victor Newman proves his lifelong inability to read a situation, and the two women in Jack Abbott’s life try to prove they’ve both turned over a new leaf.
Victor (Eric Braeden) needs to see his prodigal daughter to understand that Victor is always looking out for her and that everything he does is in her best interest. Which is why he goes out of his way to make sure that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) strikes out in her attempt to launch a professional life outside of Daddy’s sphere of influence. Nothing says, “I love you, please come back home, my sweetheart,” than Victor cutting Victoria off at the knees as soon as she declares her independence.
Jack (Peter Bergman) refused to tell Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) what went wrong between him and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). So Summer challenged her mother to extend an olive branch to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Realizing this is her chance to assert moral superiority – and prove how damn Zen she is – Phyllis scurries over to her nemesis and proposes that they bury the hatchet. See that, Jack? See what a mature, loving, and lovable woman I am?
Diane, for her part, is eager to accept Phyllis’s invitation to a truce. She accepts. Bygones! Let auld acquaintances be forgot and all that! They are going to form a united front for the sake of their beloved offspring, Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
See that, Jack? See what a mature, loving, and lovable woman I am? But since this isn’t Fantasy Island and instead is Genoa City, we’re expecting a nice-off between Phyllis and Diane. Followed by the claws really being bared. Which will be nicer for us!
